Arise legislative update: Few funding gains for Alabama's human services under Senate committee's General Fund budget

Reduced health care access for vulnerable Alabamians and hundreds of court layoffs would be among the likely consequences of the General Fund (GF) budget that cleared a Senate committee this week. The $1.7 billion GF budget differs little from the one that Gov. Robert Bentley proposed and is balanced in part with nearly $200 million of one-time money.
